Retail Therapy

Shopping used to be therapy for me.

When I had a bad day, I would hit the mall, try on clothes and buy myself a little something to make me feel better.

A little over a year ago, I received a diagnosis that changed the course of my life. It was a scary, sad and burdensome day. After that day, I spent a lot of time in doctor’s offices and continue to spend some time in and out of them today.

One day was a particularly hard day, so naturally, I wanted to do a little shopping. As I've explained before, I've been a little more careful about where I get my clothes these days, so I was trying to figure out where to go to get my shopping urges out.

On my way home, I drove by a cute little vintage shop with a $5 rack outside. Obviously, I flipped a U-turn immediately and stopped.

There I found one of my new favorite jackets (among other things). It’s a metallic gold and black cropped little number from the 60’s. it has 3/4 length sleeves and is perfect for a moderate day.

The next Saturday was spent in San Francisco with my best friend. I wore my new little jacket with my black leather bag I found at a thrift shop and paired it with Atonement Jewelry.

Recycled and repurposed closing and accessories are my favorite way to go when I’m on a budget and want to gather some new items. They are a perfect way to splurge without worry and having to check into brand before buying.

I hope you enjoy some vintage finds in your future!

Xo,

Haley
